I don’t promise perfection, but I always chase it.
I have loved caring for cars since not long after I began to walk, but my formal detailing journey began with a job at a leading Australian Porsche dealership back in the late 90’s. As far as detailing goes, it was everything that is ‘starting at the bottom’. But it was heaven, and in all honesty I would have worked for nothing just to be around those cars all day.
However it wasn’t all high fives and air-cooled 911’s - with one of my clearest memories being of copping a daily ear beating from the service managers for spending too much time on the cars. For some reason I couldn’t help but care about about each and every one of those cars as if they were my own, as I do with all the cars I work on to this day. I literally had customers coming around the back to say thank you, which not everyone in the dealership was happy about! In the end my hardheaded response to work harder and faster could only be kept up for so long, and it became clear that my personal values and those of the dealership were misaligned.
After that time, I continued detailing on my own terms, taking on projects through word of mouth whenever the opportunity arose. For years, this allowed me to keep honing my skills and pursuing my passion. Then, in early 2020, I made the decision to formalise my passion and market my services to the broader public.
To me, working on cars is the next best thing to driving them. And it is simply my genuine pleasure to help my customers get the most enjoyment from their cars.
If you’d like a genuinely obsessive ‘craftsman’ to obsess over your vehicle, I’d love to hear from you.
